Security Council
The mission of the Security Council is to protect the protocol from threats and respond to emerging situations.
The Security Council is configured by the DAO to circumvent the normal (high-latency) governance process in the event of an emergency which allows the subDAO to primarily operate as an incident response function for the Network. For an action to be approved by the Security Council, the vote must be in favor 2 to 3.
The Security Council has the power to:
block any governance proposals
respond to an Operator failure
remove validator keys that have not yet been funded
set the security daemon
set the validator proof uploader and key review period (min bound: 12 hours, max bound: 5 days)
pause and unpause the protocol, including:
prevent future deposits into the protocol
prevent withdrawals from the protocol
block the ability for the protocol to be rebalanced
Initially, the Security Council will be empowered by a $RN tokenholder vote. The Security Council does not hold any funds.
